Coldplay in London ½ Hour NewMusic Special
If I'm being honest...I've always been indifferent about Coldplay. Didn't love them, didn't hate them- just haven’t really gotten into their music, just not my thing. I have an enormous amount of respect for the work they have done with Oxfam and their outspoken views on not lending their music to commercials, but really, they were just never a band, musically, that I really cared for.
After flying to London to spend only 20 hours in the city to do a scheduled 15 minute interview with Chris and Johnny that turned into over 30 minutes, along with hearing their new album, I'll admit I see the band with brand new eyes…and hear them with brand new ears. The album sounds really great, nothing like the Coldplay you are used to, and as everyone had told me....they are seriously super nice dudes.
After the interview I was afraid that we joked so much that maybe we didn't even talk about music...but we did manage to squeeze some music talk in between the Rocky 4, bionic limbs and Ricky Martin chit chat....I’m pretty sure.
