The New Music baby, a show that covers legends to breakout stars. In this weeks show we take the time to check in with the King of Hip Hop, Grandmaster Flash, check in with Andrew WK who will tell you how to get over the February blahs and figure out what is the one thing that is stopping insanely popular German band Tokio Hotel from taking over the planet. We also talk to two of the most talented ladies out there. The incredible Cat Power about her recovery from substance abuse and her battle to reclaim her life, and bright young star Zaki Ibrahim who is trying to make sure she doesn’t fall into the dark side of the industry.

We got you covered because we care. And just because we love you so much we get you a sneak peak (no pun intended) of the hottest rare sneaker collection around.

See you on the other side.

This Week

Tokio Hotel

18-year-old twin brothers Tom and Bill Kaulitz of Germany's Tokio Hotel may not speak English, but they're not letting that hold them back from taking over the world. In fact, there's just one thing distracting them from complete global domination: girls.

Andrew WK

Andrew WK wants to bring the party atmosphere back to concerts. He did a good job last time he was in Toronto, when fans hurled barricades onto the stage. Sounds wild & crazy but he assures that it's all in good fun.

Grandmaster Flash

It’s impossible to give Grandmaster Flash a worthy introduction. He’s only the architect of hip- hop, and was the first hip-hop artist inducted into the Rock n’ Roll hall of fame. So we figured we’d let him properly introduce himself.

Zaki Ibrahim

Everyone who meets her says Zaki Ibrahim is destined for greatness. So what's it like being touted as the next Amy Winehouse? Not to worry, Zaki assures us she won't be heading down the dark path of fame anytime soon.

Cat Power

After battling depression and alcohol abuse, Cat Power has used up most of her nine lives. But now she’s fully sober, and attributes a lot of her positive turnaround to one of her idols... Mary J. Blige.

The Bravery

The Bravery were best known for their famous beef with the Killers and their liberal use of eyeliner. But now they're out with a new album, and it's a definite departure from their synth-heavy 1st record. And even though they've shed their glam rock image, it's still very important for these guys to keep up appearances when they're out on the road.

Check This: Sneaker Pimps

Sneaker Pimps founder Peter Fahey has tracked all over the world with his rare sneaker collection, and a big party to go with it. He’s discovered that no matter where you live, you probably love sneakers.

Interviewing Tegan And Sara

Yesterday morning I interviewed Tegan and Sara about their new album The Con, which if you read my previous blog, you will know I am obsessed with.

To my surprise we spent most of the time chatting about love. How love is rarely forever and how falling out of love is treated as a criminal act. The sisters have such different sensibilities when it comes to relationships. Tegan is a love addict. Sara is a serial relationship girl. We spoke about the lies they tell to the people they are in love with and how healing your first dose of rejection is. By the end of the half hour we had officially replaced Dr. Phil as a trio of m...
